The Swiss Embassy in Singapore is proud to participate in the 35th European Film Festival (EUFF), celebrating creativity, diversity, and cultural exchange across Europe. As part of the festival, the Embassy presents Late Shift, a 2025 Swiss-German drama directed by Petra Volpe and starring Leonie Benesch.

Late Shift offers a gripping, documentary-style look into the challenges of nursing in understaffed hospital wards, highlighting a pressing global issue: the projected shortage of 13 million nurses by 2030. The film has received international recognition, including an Oscar nomination for Best International Feature and a Best Actress nomination for Leonie Benesch at the 38th European Film Awards.
The Embassy’s participation underscores Switzerland’s commitment to cultural dialogue, European cinematic excellence, and socially relevant storytelling. Join us for this compelling film and celebrate the rich diversity of Europe as part of EUFF’s six-week program, featuring 29 screenings from 23 European countries across Capitol Theatre, Filmhouse, and the German European School Singapore (GESS).
