The tasks of the embassy

As the official representation of Switzerland in Singapore, the Embassy covers all matters concerning Switzerland’s diplomatic relations with Singapore and with Brunei Darussalam. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic, financial, defence and legal affairs, as well as science, education and culture. The Embassy also hosts the Southeast Asia office of Switzerland Tourism.

Political Affairs

The Embassy promotes Swiss interests in Singapore by tracking key policy developments, engaging on matters ranging from security to environmental cooperation, and reinforcing mutual understanding through sustained partnerships and high‑level visits.

Economy and Finance

The Embassy strengthens Swiss–Singaporean economic ties by monitoring regulations, working with local authorities, and advancing trade and investment through key agreements and its Swiss Business Hub ASEAN.

Science, Technology and Education

The Science Counselor, as part of the swissnex network, advances Swiss–Singaporean cooperation in science, technology, and innovation by monitoring key developments, cultivating strong local partnerships, and fostering dynamic research exchange between the two countries.

Culture and Public Affairs

The Culture and Public Affairs Section strengthens Swiss–Singaporean ties by promoting cultural exchange and fostering collaborations with artists, institutions, and partners.

Switzerland Tourism promotes the country’s signature “Swissness” worldwide, operating a regional network across Southeast Asia to market Switzerland’s landscapes, quality, and experiences.
