ThinkSwiss Research Scholarships: Brunei and Singapore 2026-2027

ThinkSwiss Research Scholarships offer students from Singapore and Brunei the opportunity to undertake a research stint in a Swiss laboratory of their choosing. This provides scholars with an opportunity to experience the Swiss research ecosystem first-hand. The programme is subject-agnostic.

- Deadline: 31 January
- Timeframe of your stay: The applicant is free to schedule research anytime between 1 April 2027 to 31 December 2027. The start date of your research internship cannot be later than 1 November 2027

Eligibility
- Master's students, or Bachelor's students who have completed at least their 2nd year of study by the time the research stay begins
- Written confirmation from a professor at a Swiss university or research institute confirming acceptance for a research stay in their group/lab
- Doctoral and postdoctoral candidates are not eligible
- Currently be enrolled at an accredited university/institute of the listed countries (Singapore and Brunei) OR be a holder of an A*STAR scholarship
Funding
- Stipend of up to equivalent of CHF 3,600 (approximately SGD/BND 5,600, subject to exchange rate fluctuations) per application, designed to cover a research stay of around two months. Applications to a maximum of three months are welcome, but the additional costs for the third month must be self-financed
